Nature Photographer Adds Hybrid Photography
Hi, my name is Rob Knight and I’m a photography and Lightroom instructor based in Atlanta GA. I’m a travel photographer with an emphasis on the natural world, and these days I consider myself a hybrid nature photographer.
When I saw what the Hybrid Heroes on DiscoverMirrorless.com were doing with hybrid photography I started wondering if I could apply the techniques for eTemplates and eProducts to my nature and travel photography
What I’ve learned is that hybrid nature photography is not only fun, but its really easy! It has opened my eyes to seeing my nature and travel subjects in a whole new way. For my still photography I’m still shooting like I always have, but now I’m thinking about how I can add movement to help tell the story and support my still images. I’m also thinking about how I will combine the photos and video into ProShow Web templates.
I’m not really making eProducts for clients, instead I’m making hybrid eScapes that I’m sharing on my website and social media. I find that viewers will watch an interesting hybrid photography eScape longer than they will click through a regular online gallery. I think the video component really helps brings my still images to life. I feel like I can deliver a more complete story with a hybrid presentation than I can with a still frame alone.
I think my workshop students are really going to enjoy learning about hybrid photography. As an instructor, the exciting part about hybrid photography is that it doesn’t replace what you’re already shooting. You can use tools you already have to create something really unique.
The included hybrid eScape was shot in Tallulah Gorge, GA with a Panasonic GH3 mirrorless camera.

Welcome to the team!
Welcome on board officially Rob! Looking forward to seeing more great things from you.
Thanks for having me! I’m excited to be part of the hybrid “movement”
Welcome to the team! Looks great. I like nature/landscape photography too but haven’t done too much video with it yet. I hope to go on more hikes this summer than I did last summer. Look forward to seeing more of your stuff.
Thanks Paula. Let’s go hiking!
