Creating an eProduct Harley Style

A photo of John riding down the hill on his Harley. You can see the GoPro attached to the handle bars in this shot.

Hi guys I wanted to share this really neat shoot I had this past weekend for a buddy who is a motorcycle enthusiast.  He brought out his Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom and we headed for the hills.   This was a very interesting one because we decided to mix his GoPro action camera with the photos and video clips from my Lumix G5.

Just another one of the interesting photos you can get from the GoPro’s unique perspective

Mixing the two cameras actually worked out pretty well, though the look of the GoPro footage doesn’t match the Lumix G5′s completely.   Honestly though, it was perfectly fine and useable.  I think this would be another one of those situations where content overrides quality.  Without the unique point of view of the GoPro this project wouldn’t have that extra flare.  Though I was actually considering strapping the G5 on a monopod and riding down the hill with John, the GoPro just made it a little easier.

I used Lightroom 4 to add a little bit of colors to the photos and video clips from the G5 and used Premiere Pro for putting it all together and changing the exposure on the GoPro footage. Unfortunately because the GoPro is all auto exposure it was darkening the rider and exposing for the Sky. Thankfully I was able to change this in Premiere Pro easily and the blacks held together well.

Hope you enjoy this one.

Keep it simple and get out there and shoot!
